Who is
our new
Pastor? |
Background:
Jonathan was called
to serve as our pastor in November, 2004. He studied at Harvard
Divinity School, where he completed his Master of Divinity Degree
in 2004. Earlier he earned his B.A. at Swarthmore College with
the major in Religion. He was ordained into the Christian
ministry at Old South Church in Boston on November 15, 2004, after
student ministries in both church and hospital settings.
Family:
Jonathan married his
high school sweetheart, and he and Liza are the proud parents of
Anne Elizabeth, born in December 2004, and Samuel Thomas, born in
May 2007. Before coming to
St. Paul’s, Jonathan and Liza lived in Boston for five years,
where Liza earned a Master in Social Work from Boston University.
There she worked in a therapeutic after-school program for
mentally ill teens. Now she is a part-time aquatics instructor at
the local YMCA and a full-time mom.
Interests:
Jonathan
has a great passion for the musical, dramatic and literary arts.
(If you ask him nicely, he might do a number from “The Music
Man.”) Among his favorites are the novels of A.S. Byatt, the
poetry of Donald Hall, and the music of U2. He enjoys singing and
playing the guitar, among other instruments. He is an avid
baseball fan (a member of Red Sox Nation), and he loves to play
tennis. Jonathan also loves to cook.
What should we call him?
Our pastor is happy to be
called “Jonathan.” That is how he usually introduces himself.
For those who are more comfortable using a traditional title,
however, “Pastor” or “Pastor Hauze” is quite alright.
How can we reach him?
Give him a
call at the church office: 610-363-7285. Or stop by the church,
where he’s usually in his study during the following hours:
Tuesday: 9am – 1pm
Thursday: 9am – 1pm
Friday: 1pm – 5pm
You may also reach Jonathan at home:
610-429-3411.
